Blooming Lovely Socks
Top-down sock pattern for knitting
The Blooming Lovely Socks came to be when Kim from Gingersnap sent me a picture of a yarn and fabric combo. I was excited to be asked to create a pattern in this beautiful speckled Blooming Lovely yarn.
The pattern combines a pretty floral lace motif and some broken rib to give a great fit. When you pair this with the beautiful yarn it makes a wonderful pair of warm weather socks. Perfect for a full leg or shorties! This pattern is my favourite mix of design and stockinette that makes the socks fly off the needles.
Written and charted instructions are included with a video tutorial to show the simple lace stitch that makes up the floral motif.
The pattern looks great on lots of different types of yarn…Give it a try! Check out my tester’s project pages for inspiration.
The sock comes in 3 sizes and is knit from the top down with a heel flap and traditional gusset. I finished it with my version of a rounded toe.
1 skein of fingering weight yarn.
Huge thanks to my test knitters Heather J, Rochelle, Alexa, Jenn, Leanne, Heather D, Darlene, Alice and Mara for their feedback and their beautiful socks.
