Parade of Cones Socks
Top-down sock pattern for knitting
We are off to Knit City Montreal and this sock was knit to pay homage to the iconic and plentiful construction cones that appear in Montreal this time of year. The pattern also shows off the fun Sock Marl base from Yarn Indulgences that has been dyed in vibrant orange and pink.
This fun stitch pattern moves the stripes in the yarn with a combination of increases and decreases, while leaving the back of the sock plain to enjoy the horizontal lines. It is an intuitive pattern that is easy to read
Thank you to Deborah from Yarn Indulgences for the beautiful yarn and being the best yarnie friend!
The pattern looks great on lots of different types of yarn…Give it a try! Check out my tester’s project pages for inspiration.
The sock comes in 3 sizes and is knit from the top down with a garter edge heel flap and traditional gusset. I finished it with my version of a rounded toe.
1 skein of fingering weight yarn.
Huge thanks to my test knitters Leanne, Heather J, Jenn, Heather E., Darlene, Tamara and Rochelle for their feedback and their beautiful socks.
