Lake Ontario Socks

This fun lace pattern mimics the bubbles and froth as the waves hit the shore

Top-down sock pattern for knitting

This pattern launched at Knit City Toronto on May 18, 2024. Stephanie from The Creative Knitter very kindly asked me to collaborate and work with her lovely yarns.

This fun lace pattern mimics the bubbles and froth as the waves hit the shore. It has the right amount of interest to keep you engaged in the knitting, but is easy to memorize. The fun is all on the front, so you can enjoy the look of the knit fabric on the back of the sock.

The sock comes in 3 sizes and is knit from the top down with a heel flap and traditional gusset. I finished it with my version of a rounded toe.

Written and charted instructions are included.

The pattern looks great on lots of different types of yarn…Give it a try! Check out my tester’s project pages for inspiration.

I used one skein of fingering weight main colour yarn. My sample is knit all in one colour, but my testers had a lot of fun and got creative with contrast colours.

Huge thanks to my test knitters Heather J, Rochelle, Leanne, Jenn, Kathryn and Heather E for their feedback, their speed and beautiful socks.
